xz security update
An update for xz is now available for openEuler-20.03-LTS-SP1, openEuler-20.03-LTS-SP3 and openEuler-22.03-LTS.
XZ Utils is free general-purpose data compression software with a high compression ratio. XZ Utils were written for POSIX-like systems, but also work on some not-so-POSIX systems. XZ Utils are the successor to LZMA Utils. The core of the XZ Utils compression code is based on LZMA SDK, but it has been modified quite a lot to be suitable for XZ Utils. The primary compression algorithm is currently LZMA2, which is used inside the .xz container format. With typical files, XZ Utils create 30% smaller output than gzip and 15% smaller output than bzip2.
Security Fix(es):
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation when handling filenames with two or more newlines. A remote attacker can force zgrep or xzgrep to write arbitrary files on the system. The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise an affected system.(CVE-2022-1271)
An update for xz is now available for openEuler-20.03-LTS-SP1, openEuler-20.03-LTS-SP3 and openEuler-22.03-LTS.
openEuler Security has rated this update as having a security impact of high. A Common Vunlnerability Scoring System(CVSS)base score,which gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability from the CVElink(s) in the References section.
