5d2f781f7b new low level animation engine,
should ease the macroification and tuning of animations once they are
converted (backward compatible).

8d2e6ecb20 better use of image::locator for units.
This will be improved to be used in halos at a later stage, porting to
1.2 will be done on the performance branch...
