cause a scrollbar to appear, which isn't properly handled in conjunction
with the blur precommit hook. The automatic Close button still doesn't

Espreon noticed an ampersand in a campaign description breaks the
description markup. Now try to recover from unescaped ampersands. The
rest of the broken markup remains broken (pango seems to handle
unescaped single quotes and double quotes properly).

2011-02-07T21:43:12Z!b.waresiak@gmail.com introduced some code, purportedly intended to fix bug
#16237 , which relied on game_display/display never destroying buttons
returned by the find_button() method. Unfortunately, many code paths
calling game_display/display::draw() cause them to be destroyed and
recreated, resulting in UB from code that still keeps the old pointers
around and doesn't refresh them before use.
This commit removes the replay_controller::replay_buttons_wrapper
class and reintegrates its code into the replay_controller class to
remove one unrequired abstraction layer, without entirely reverting
2011-02-07T21:43:12Z!b.waresiak@gmail.com. It also makes sure pointers aren't kept for longer than
necessary, disposing of them after use and calling
game_display/display::find_button() every single time a button has to
be accessed. This shouldn't result in noticeable runtime overhead
increase as the buttons are stored in a vector which is rarely very
large (I have yet to see a Wesnoth GUI theme that has more than ten
buttons).
As a side-effect of my changes, however, a glitch on the Skip
Animations checkbox background has appeared. Considering I don't touch
that button at all, it's possible there's a different cause for it
that was concealed by the replay buttons' triggered UB.
I don't think this side-effect is more important at this point than the
original bug, and I or someone else can investigate it later.
NOTE: If someone has a reasonable argument for this commit being
reverted before 1.9.10, feel free to discuss that with me.

The many "null" themes, and the editor theme make use of this now.
This could be useful for campaign cutscene themes, for example, which

* May have made the player number entries easier to translate
* Removed overly long infodump about hotkeys that's already part of the

* Ran into a lot of frustration involving adding or substracting one
from various things like map coordinates and team numbers because the
zero-based C arrays assumption doesn't seem to work here.

A static counter variable wasn't being reset, ever, so a number of
version comparisons during a single session would make the code stop
working.
The basic idea is idiotic and I should probably rewrite this code ASAP.

Fix compilation with clang 2.9 / boost 1.47.

This applies a slightly modified version of the patch linked in
bug #18399 . The changes are coding-style related.
The patch was intended to fix compilation with boost 1.47, but that
boost version is not yet in Debian so didn't test that part. Since it
does fix compilation with clang 2.9 Iapplied it, without waiting for
boost 1.47 to hit Debian.

Apply "Setting to ignore encountered_units" (patch #2940 by negusnyul)
...
The preferences entry name and tooltip are not the same as the patch in
the tracker, as we discussed on IRC that this doesn't exclusively affect
mainline units nor does it need to. I also changed the tooltip wording
to fit as much as possible in my 1280x800 screen without changing the
font size (works on 800x480 with a smaller font size).

Fixes #bug 18715

(Game hangs at loading screen after flushing caches and save index and
pressing F5)
Previously, when the .cache/wesnoth directory was deleted, while
wesnoth was running and then the cache was refreshed with F5 from the
startup screen, wesnoth hung. The crash occured because wesnoth
didn't recreate the cache directory after startup, when it is
recovering from the cache not existing. Now it makes a new cache
directory as needed.

I'm really not sure why this limitation was in place. Perhaps there was
an architectural constraint back when it was introduced making it
impossible to know about global [theme] nodes right after startup.
My testing indicates this doesn't have any ridiculous side-effects.

Fixed compilation on all Debian architectures.

The #undef was introduced in 2010-10-31T09:00:17Z!guillaume.melquiond@gmail.com, but the commit offers no reason
_why_ the macro was undefined. This patch has been tested by Rhonda on
all Debian architectures and there it caused no build problem, whereas
the 2010-10-31T09:00:17Z!guillaume.melquiond@gmail.com caused several architectures failing to build.
The reason the issue was spotted much later is that before Debian
compiled with the ANA network. It switched to the older network code
while changing the build system from autotools to cmake, so the latter
was thought to be the cause.
Fixes Debian bug #636193 and reverts 2010-10-31T09:00:17Z!guillaume.melquiond@gmail.com.

Fix for bug #16173
...
(move_unit_fake and move_units_fake were not exception safe)
1. Made game_display::fake_unit the only interface to the
game_display fake units. fake_unit is a RAII resource that is self
cleaning.
2. Removed place_temporary_unit and remove_temporary_unit as public
interfaces to game_display
3. Updated all uses of the old interface to the new interface.

...returning a table holding the global traits known to the engine.
Creating a proxy table for this seems kind of overkill for now, and it
is possible to add the function in the "compatibility" file later on
just in case.

Fixed bug #18057 : AI leaders should now attack when they should.
...
The problem applied to AI leaders with two attacks, one of them ranged
and another melee, such as Orc Warlord, vs melee-strong ranged-weak
opponents (and reverse, ranged-strong melee-weak leaders vs
ranged-strong melee-weak opponens). AI selected the weapon using
default aggression, so it selected a weapon most damaging to both
combatans, vs a 'safe' weapon. but then, when it rated the attack
using leader_aggression, which is lower (default is 0.4), it thought
that the attack is too risky to take. now AI takes proper aggression
into account, so it'll take 'safe' attacks if possible. Thanks a good
testcase.
